Some of the thoroughbred events  that are happening this weekend are:

Battle Of The OTTB’s : Ten OTTB – off the track Thoroughbreds – are to vie for the title of America’s Most Wanted Thoroughbred in a competition pitting the horses’ skills in 10 different equestrian disciplines.

The contest is the feature event of the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover: A Marketplace and National Symposium, at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 4 and 5. Ten ex-racehorses will compete for the title and $10,000 in prize money. Online followers voted for their favorite contestant, and will vote again during the event itself.

One of the most visible collection’s of Gwen Reardon’s work is in Lexington, Kentucky’s downtown Thoroughbred Park. The park is a
tribute to the thoroughbred race horse, and features thirteen sculptures. Seven life size bronze race horses and jockeys run
for the finish line. Also in the park are broodmares and foals and the great stallion Lexington. Here are the photos!
