For the second day of Christmas our featured artist is… Sue Ziegler! For the next 10 days of the “12 Days Of Equine Artists” (an equine art take on the 12 Days Of Christmas) I will be writing a post about some of my favorite artists alive today. To read about Day 1: Mirelle Vegers, click here.
Sue Ziegler’s drawings bring a zest of color, drama and powerful movement to center stage on her canvas’s. Through hard work and dedication to her craft, Sue has mastered her mediums–after only picking up her first art pencil just a few years ago! Her lifelike portraits draw (pun intended!) you in through her inspirational color choices and physical beauty that visually describes the classical, graceful movement of the horse that has attracted artists throughout the centuries. Her drawings depict her avid interest in racehorses, including American Pharaoh, California Chrome, and Sue’s art has graced the pages of national equine magazines, including Thoroughbred Today, Sidelines, and she has been juried into the prestigious American Academy Of Equine Art for her color pencil and pastel work. To discover a more in depth look at her art, read my previous article and Q&A here.
