Anna Sewell~

Anna Sewell was born on March 30, 1820, in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.  When Anna was 14 and on her way home from school, she slipped and fell, breaking both of her ankles. After that, she was confined most of the time to  her house as an invalid and got around mostly by carriage horses. Despite her pain, Anna Sewell was determined to complete her novel, Black Beauty (1877) . She dictated much of the book to her mother, who wrote it all down when Anna was too weak to hold a pencil.  She died of hepatitis in 1878, just five months after her book was published.
