For the next 12 days starting on Christmas Day and ending on January 5th (the traditional “12 Days Of Christmas”) I will be featuring 12 equine artists. Over 80 artists entered in the contest to be featured on our Facebook group Art Of The Horse (which has over 4,000 members!). I used this handy tool to randomly pick 12 of the entrants to be featured on TFS. Day eleven’s feature artist is Canadian equine artist Agatha Kacprzak!

I am an amateur sketch artist from Quebec, Canada
I was born in Poland and now reside in the lovely Laurentian region of Quebec, Canada.
As a little girl, I doodled horses on school books, restaurant napkins and anything I could find. My parents could not afford riding lessons let alone a horse, so I started a collection of magazines and books to fulfill my passion. In Europe, my family was lucky to live in a rural town where I watched neighbor’s horses graze for hours and imagined myself riding them when I closed my eyes.
I never really continued drawing as an adult until I came accross a touching story of a young girl ( here in Quebec ) who lost her beloved mare in a tragic accident. I felt so very sad for her and could only imagine how difficult it must be to get through something like this. That day, I picked up a pencil and pad and sketched the young lady and her horse and contacted the parents to offer her the portrait as a gift.
The family was so moved and grateful and that inspired me to try to make others smile with my art.
The above painting is called “Snow Kissed” and was given by the artist to the Iconic Céline Dion in Montréal last year.
In 2011 I contacted a local Horse Rescue named Galahad and asked if i could offer my help somehow through my art. I decided to offer my drawings for sale and donate a portion of the profits to this Canadian non-profit organization.

One of my proudest achievements …is having been given the honor to create an illustration for a book by a wonderful gentleman named Richard D. Rowland. Here it is… My portrait of Peanut in his book “Unspoken Messages- Spiritual Lessons I learned from Horses and Other Earthbound Souls”. You can buy his book here.
I then created a little art page on Facebook called “Horses seen through my eyes” . The page is dedicated to artwork and Equine Charities from all over the world. I currently sponsor several in the USA and Canada.
I offer gift certificates and actual original art work and donate it to their auctions and special occasions.
I have been blessed to meet incredible animal lovers who dedicate their lives to make a difference and this has been tremendously inspiring and most gratifying to me. I have since started painting and experiment with digital art as well. My work has been published in a lovely book by Richard Rowland ( an illustration ), Sideline Magazine in the USA and Equi Libre here in Quebec.
I hope to continue to be inspired and make a difference. I hope to be known for the good I have done and will continue to do.
